ONGC
ENERGY CENTRE Targeted Research & Innovation in Energy (TRIE):
ONGC Energy Centre (OEC) functions under the aegis
of the ONGC Energy Centre Trust, set up by ONGC, which is mandated to undertake
or assist/collaborate in research for developing and/or improving the
commercially viable energy mediums and sources, especially in clean and
renewable energy options which have the potential to make an impact on India’s
energy scene.
Targeted Research & Innovation in Energy is an
initiative by ONGC Energy Centre (OEC) to facilitate and encourage students and
young researchers to come forward with outof-box ideas, or innovative working
prototypes in the area of energy.
Energy Sector plays a crucial and enabling role in
the economic growth of the country and is rightly termed as “Oxygen of the
Economy”. The idea behind this initiative is to create and foster a culture of
innovative thinking leading to development of products, processes and materials
that is relevant to the energy sector in the country and which can also help in
improving the performance of the existing energy devices and systems.
ONGC Energy Centre (OEC) will conduct competition
among students pursuing Graduation/Post Graduation/Ph.D, from any recognized
academic or research institution in the country, to bring to fore
high-potential ideas that can be developed into products/process or evaluate
the usefulness of the proto-types already developed by the students or young
researchers. Through this competition OEC will provide opportunity to
engineering and research students who have ideas and/or have developed a
working prototype which has potential for scale up and/or commercialization.
The competition will be on Targeted Research and
Innovation in Energy (TRIE), wherein OEC will announce a topic (product/process
for) development within specified time period.
ONGC Energy Centre has announced the competition
through advertisement in some of the leading National Newspapers, ONGC website
(www.ongcindia.com) and through select IITs and other institutions etc.
Interested and eligible students/teams are requested to submit their entry in
the prescribed format given in Annexure and follow the guidelines for
submission of applications. Towards this end, OEC invites applications/entries
from young engineering and research students who have ideas that can be
developed into products or innovative working prototypes.
