Scholastic Writing Awards 2017

Scholastic Corporation is the world’s largest publisher and distributor of children’s books with operations all over the world. Scholastic India’s mission is to provide children in India with reading and learning opportunities that will cultivate their minds to the utmost capacity and enrich their lives.
To encourage creativity Scholastic India introduced Scholastic Writing Awards for outstanding original works by students of classes 4 to 9. These Awards are inspired by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the longest-running and the most generous recognition programme for students in America. The winners are not only given attractive prizes, but their award-winning stories are also published every year in an anthology titled For Kids By Kids. By giving them a platform to publish their works, we encourage and motivate young talent.

The Hindu Young World Quiz Contest

Presenting the 16th edition of the popular The Hindu Young World Quiz, one of the longest running and largest live school quizzes. The quiz would be hosted as always by The Hindu's resident quizmaster V.V. Ramanan.
The quiz contest will have two categories: Juniors (IV – VI Std) and Seniors (VII – IX Std).

Google Online Marketing Challenge 2017

Competition Process

Step 1: Registering for the Challenge. Professors register for the Challenge, verify their account and get approved by Google. Students form teams of 3-6 members and appoint a Team Captain. The Team Captain registers under the verified professor, who in turn confirms each student team by clicking a verification link sent via email after the team registers. See Registration for more information.
Step 2: Accessing Dashboard. Once the professor has received a notification email and has verified the student team, the Team Captain can access the team's Student Dashboard with the Google account used during the initial registration. Next, the Team Captain can add required information to the dashboard, including the name and email address of all team members, move onto identifying the team's competition partner and preparing the AdWords Pre-Campaign Report.

Classmate Spellbee Season 9

Classmate Spellbee is India's largest spelling competition. It aims to bring the best spellers together from every part of the nation focusing on honing the spelling skills of Indian students in a fun and educative way.
Level 1: School Level
Level 2: City Finals
Level 3: Semi Finals
Level 4: National Finals
Level 1: School Level
Standards V - IX, start gearing up! This Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) format will test your basic spelling skills. You have to choose the correct spellings of 75 words from the options. Top scorers from each school move to Level 2 (City Finals) of the competition. You are also required to mandatorily fill in your information on a form that’ll be used for all future correspondence.

Online Test
You can now take the test online, provided you fall within the eligibility criteria. Participants who aren’t from the 30 cities that the competition travels to physically can participate through the online test. If your city does not appear in the dropdown, kindly select the city closest to where you reside. Top scorers from the online test also advance to Level 2.

The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition 2017

The Royal Commonwealth Society is pleased to announce that the theme for The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2017 is A Commonwealth for Peace.
Building upon the 2016 theme of An Inclusive Commonwealth, this year’s topics ask for a more active understanding of the role of the Commonwealth as a network of and for democracy, Human Rights and peace. We are asking young writers to explore peace at every level, from the personal to the political to the pan-Commonwealth.

The Hindu In School Handwriting Wizards 2017

Cello presents The Hindu in School Handwriting Wizards 2017. The competition will be organised at two levels — school round and city round — and under two categories — juniors (Standard 4-6) and seniors (Standard 7-9).
Locations
The contest will be held in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tiruchi, Salem, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubballi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata and New Delhi.
The 30-minute contest will be organised in schools under the supervision of class teachers. Question paper, answer sheets and writing instruments will be provided.
Six best entries will be chosen by the school authorities under each category.

Finalists for the city finale will be chosen from the 6 winners of every participating school and will be called to a common venue.

Valeo Innovation Challenge Contest 2017

Valeo is offering young students worldwide the opportunity to make the car of 2030 and the way it's used more intelligent, intuitve, green and fun. Comprising teams of two to five people, students from any discipline can take part by presenting a relevant, innovative project in English. The aim is to stimulate the students’ creativity, enabling them to form multidisciplinary teams.
The Valeo Innovation Challenge is part of Valeo’s innovation strategy, supported by the company’s annual Research and Development budget of over €1 billion.

Online Quiz Competition on Dr Ambedkar and India Constitution

The National Committee on Nationwide Celebration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar had recommended to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to organize every year an online quiz competition on the India Constitution, the Constituent Assembly and the life and work of Dr. Ambedkar and to give awards on 14th of April every year. Accordingly, to execute this decision and sharing a common desire to celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University(A Central University), Lucknow-UP will hold an annual programme of online quiz competition to spread the teachings of Dr. Ambedkar and to inculcate his thoughts among youth of the country.
Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) will conduct the quiz programme every year in between December and January.
All of the Questionnaire will be prepared in a way to exculpated from all controversy. All care will be taken in this regard. All of the questions will be vetted by the experts in the area. The responsibility of the subject material will be of University.
The results will be executed automatically online and it is to be ensured that there will be no bias of algorithm.
The quiz will be conducted for all (37) States/Union Territories (UTS) wise and also at National level.

Dr A P J Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards 2017

National Innovation Foundation (NIF), India, an autonomous body of the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India announces the tenth national competition for students' ideas and innovations, in association withthe Honey Bee Network, SRISTI, CBSE and other partners.
NIF invites submissions of creative technological ideas/innovations from the students up to Standard XII for the tenth national competition for children's ideas and innovations -Dr A P J Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards 2017.NIF dedicates the IGNITE Awards in the loving memory of Dr Kalam.
In order to promote creativity and originality in children, NIF has been organising IGNITE - a national competition of original technological ideas and innovations by children, up to Standard XII or the age of 17 years, in or out of school.
Starting in 2008, in the past seven years, 142 awards have been given to 202 children at the hands of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The total number of submissions from school children received during the various IGNITE campaigns is 71,200.NIF decided to commemorate the IGNITE Awards in his memory and rechristened the awards as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE Awards, so that creative children continue to draw inspiration from his spirit. NIF will continue to announce the awards every year on October 15, Dr Kalam's birthday, which is also celebrated as the Children's Creativity and Innovation Day by NIF.
Competition is for students up to Standard XII, the maximum age is expected to be around17-18 years. Those out of school (children), up to the age of 17 years, can also participate. 
The entries will be received till August 31, 2017. All entries received after this date will be considered for Dr APJ Abdul Kalam IGNITE 2018 competition.

CSIR Innovation Award 2017

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) announces CSIR Innovation Award for School Children 2017.  Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) is the premier Industrial R&D Organisation in India. CSIR initiated Invention Awards for school children to create awareness, interest and motivation for Intellectual Property amongst children.
Eligibility:
Any Indian student enrolled in an Indian school below the age of 18 years can apply. A Student can make only one entry. Proposals can be submitted by a student or a group of students.
Application & Selection Procedure:
Applicant must provide the details of the innovation submitted for the award in not more than 5000 words in English/Hindi including an abstract (in not more than 100 words), authenticated (by giving seal and date) and sent through the Principal / Head of the School where the student is enrolled and personal details on a separate page as follows:

In case of proposals already selected for state, national, international or equivalent awards, only the subject matter covering the improvements need to be submitted for consideration of CIASC. Innovations Published/ Exhibited during the period January 1 to September 30 may be considered for the award.
The applications for the award not exceeding 5000 words in English/Hindi with requisite drawings/ photographs will be considered. The write-up must describe the subject matter in a problem-solution mode and highlighting the novel features of the innovation and its advantages.

Dr Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was a great national leader of twentieth century. He was an intellectual, scholar and statesman and contributed greatly in the nation building. He led number of movements to emancipate the downtrodden masses and to secure human rights to millions of depressed classes. He has left an indelible imprint through his immense contribution in framing the Constitution of free India. He stands as a symbol of struggle for achieving the Social Justice. Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) was set up in pursuance of the recommendations of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Centenary Celebrations Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the then Prime Minister. The Foundation was registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 on 24th March, 1992 under the aegis of the Ministry of Welfare now the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The objectives of DAF inter alia provide for financial aid to the institutions propagating Babasaheb’s memory, organize special campaign for removal of untouchability and caste based prejudices for brining an attitudinal change in the society through communal harmony and brotherhood and to organize lectures, seminars and symposia etc. on socio-economic issues. Nation is taking rapid strides toward its rightful place at the top as a super power. A society based on social justice and equity gives permanency to such great achievements. An informed youth would not only carry the country’s advancement forward but also take it to still higher levels.
Objectives:
The aim of the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition is to encourage writing on social issues, among the Students of Schools / Colleges / Universities / Institutions and arouse their interest in Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts on fundamental social issues like social justice, removal of untouchability, caste based prejudices, removal of inequality and discrimination, social democracy, national integration, communal harmony etc. The students are expected to analyze and suggest ways and means to establish a stronger social democracy and a just society.
Topics:
The topics of Essay shall be selected every year from the themes based on Dr. Ambedkar’s thoughts on social justice, removal of inequality and discrimination, ameliorating the conditions of weaker sections of the society, removal of untouchability, caste based prejudices, disparities, equality of opportunity, social democracy etc.
Eligibility:
Dr. Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition is for Students of recognized (a) Schools (Secondary & Senior Secondary Schools i.e. from class 9th to class 12th ), and (b) Colleges / Universities / Institutions.
Announcement of Prizes:
A full list of winners would be placed on the websites of the Foundation (www.ambedkarfoundation.nic.in). Winners may be invited to Delhi for felicitation in a befitting manner.
