Poster Drawing Competition on Theme – Payment without cash- It’s Possible

From 25th December all payments to New Delhi Municipal Council -- Electricity bill, water bill, property tax, estate license fees, , parking fee, towing charges, penalties, etc will be possible through cashless means - swipe machine/POS, mobile wallet, e-wallet, AADHAR enabled payment means, Unified payment interface, net banking etc. NDMC is the first local body to go cashless for all forms of transactions.
Smaller expenses like payment of user-charges for garbage disposal, parking fee, fine for towing of vehicle, monthly rent to the civic body, etc, people would be able to use all these options. For the smooth transition towards cashless NDMC has adopted multi-pronged strategy. All NDMC employees have been trained in the ways and means for cashless transaction through special awareness camps. IEC activities for the citizens have been organized; a team of dedicated volunteers is working at the NDMC facilitation centers to help the citizens in adapting to cashless transactions. NDMC has made its payments gateways user friendly and attractive to make the entire experience of digital payments HASSLE FREE. Attractive offers like rebate in the bill amount are also being extended for shifting to digital means. NDMC does not charge any transaction fees on any digital transaction.
NDMC is therefore organizing a Poster Making competition on theme: “Payment without cash- It’s Possible”.
The contest carries following three prizes:
1st Prize - Rs.10,000/-
2nd Prize- Rs.7,500/-
3rd Prize- Rs.5,000/-
Last date of submission is 10th January, 2017.

Terms and Conditions
1. Every contestant individual, group or organization can send maximum two entries.
2. All registered members of MyGov can participate in this contest.
3. Entry must be submitted to the Creative Corner Section of MyGov. The participants should provide the following information as part of their entry:
3.1. Uploading the image file or pdf file.
3.2. Make sure your MyGov profile is accurate and updated as we will use the information on the profile for further communication. This includes your name, photo and phone number. Entries by those with incomplete profiles would be rejected.
3.3. The participants should also specify in 50 Characters about the poster and the chosen theme.
4. NDMC may ask for the original poster, in separate communication.
5. The last date for submission of entry would be 10 th January, 2017. No entries will be accepted after the time limit.
6. Efforts may be made to capture the spirit of NDMC/ Delhi in the posters linking with Cashless payment and utility to people etc.
7. All entries would be judged by a Committee constituted by the NDMC. The decision of the Committee would be final.
8. The Selected entry and its copyright will be the property of the NDMC and any changes deemed fit to improve the same will be undertaken.

National Level Scientific Writing Contest on Technology in Digital Communication

The National Academy of Sciences, India invites entries (scientific write-up on “Technology in Digital Communication") from the students of B.Sc./B.Tech./M.B.B.S./B.U.M.S./B.A.S.M. of Indian Universities by January 25, 2017, for evaluation and further participation (for selected entries/write-up only) in On the Spot Contest to be held on February 27, 2016 at The National Academy of Sciences, India, 5 Lajpatrai Road, Allahabad. The idea behind is to generate scientific temperament among the students and also makes them aware about the current scientific and environmental issues. The Rules for Entries/Scientific Write-up on "Technology in Digital Communication" has been given below-
Rules for National Level Scientific Writing Contest
1. Topic for the Scientific Writing Contest is "Technology in Digital Communication".
2. The Write-up should be either in English or in Hindi; entries be precise and confined to 3000 words only.
3. It should be neatly typed with double space on A4 size paper.
4. Proper attention must be paid on Syntax and Grammar.
5. The participants are requested to write an "Abstract" in the beginning of the write- up in approximately 150 words.
6. It would be appreciated if the participants cite the references (if any) in the end of the text, which would not be counted in 3000 words.
7. The participants must write their University/College and Home Addresses along with their telephone number(s) and email I.D. in the end of the write-up.
8. The write-up prepared as per above guidelines be sent to the Office of the National Academy of Sciences, India by January 25, 2017 on the address given below* through proper channel (duly forwarded by the Head of the concerned Department/Institution).
9. 5 best Scientific Write-ups will be selected from entries received in the Academy. The selected students will be invited to participate in "On the Spot Contest” on February 27, 2017 at Allahabad. The participants will have to write on a related topic in 3 hours.
10. Out of these five contestants, finally three would be given cash awards on National Science Day (28th February 2017); and the rest would be given the participation certificates.
11. The Academy will bear the travel expenses (second class train fare) of these five students; and modest arrangement of their stay at Allahabad during these days (27-28, February, 2017) will also be made by the Academy.

RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards 2016-17

The RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards is a national initiative that builds on RobinAge's position as the Voice of Children to encourage and support creativity in Children.

The competition invites students from class 1 to 10 to send in their writing, poetry and artwork. The top three entries of each category and age group as well as three outstanding schools - as selected by a judging panel of premiere children's authors and artists - will win accolades, recognition and prizes. What's more, all entries submitted online will get an e-certificate of participation.

Contest Categories:
  • Artwork
  • Poetry
  • Prose (news reports or stories of up to 500 words)
Age Groups:
  • Group A: Class 1 and 2
  • Group B: Class 3 to 5
  • Group C: Class 6 to 8
  • Group D: Class 9 and 10
Entries for 2016-2017: Submit entries to be considered for the 2017 awards.
To ensure children use their imagination, the competition is not restricted to themes or topics. Instead, children can choose any subject and express themselves freely.

Contest Rules for RBSA 2016-17:
·         RobinAge does not charge a participation fee for the RobinAge Bright Sparks Awards.
·         Only entries in English will be considered.
·         Please do not submit entries in the form of books or models.
·         Entries should be submitted only once, either online or in hard copy.
·         Entries that do not mention the student’s name, class, school, residential address, contact number and e-mail address will be disqualified.
·         Content sent to RobinAge is RobinAge property and can be reproduced at RobinAge’s discretion.
·         Children must obtain the permission of their parent/guardian in order to enter the contest.
·         Prizes will be awarded to three top schools for quality and quantity of entries received and to the top three entries in each contest category for each age group. A total of 39 prizes will be awarded.
·         The decision of the judges will be final. RobinAge will not entertain any questions regarding the judging process.
·         Open to citizens of India only.
·         Last date for entries: February 28, 2017. Winners will be announced in RobinAge’s 9th Anniversary Edition, dated April 13, 2017.

General Points:
Only students who are presently enrolled in Class 8 and Class 9 can take part in this quiz competition. Each team should consist of only two members.
You can participate in one of two ways:
1. Get your school to nominate a team of two students (currently in class 8th/9th)
2. Find a partner from your school (both should be in class 8th/9th) and register directly on our website.
3. A school may register ANY number of teams consisting of two students per team.

NOTE: A. In all cases, when you come for the quiz, you MUST bring your valid school Ids and a bonafide certificate signed by your school principal and with the school stamp. Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2017-18

The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme aims at providing facilities to outstanding young children to develop their talents in various artistic fields. Children in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional art forms are eligible for the scholarship.

In 1982, the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) took over the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in which initially 100 talented students in the field of arts and crafts were identified from all parts of the country and provided with scholarship. Considering the vastness of this country and the talent that is available, the scholarship was increased from 100 to 300 each year from 1984.

The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) provides the total number of fresh scholarships to be awarded every year will be 620, of which 100 scholarships are exclusively reserved for Tribal Culture (those who possess a valid ‘ST’ certificate issued by the Competent Authority) and 125 are reserved for children of families practicing traditional performing & visual arts, etc. and 20 for Differently Abled (Specially Challenged) children. The remaining 375 scholarships will be treated as general scholarships.

Basis of Selection -
The scholarship awarded under the Scheme is initially for two years and is renewable after every two years till the completion of the first University degree stage of education or up to the age of 20 years whichever is earlier subject to the awardees maintaining good progress.
